What Does One Say ??

I had a friend ask me yesterday about my 'Title", to which I asked what would you like to know? She then asked 'Well, how did you became a Lady?'
Of course I stated - I've always been a Lady as this was found out at my birth !!
You know there's a couple of differences when a child is born - it's a BOY or it's a GIRL !! That's the way announcements go. Well, she spat a little of her coffee, not LadyLike I'm afraid, and belted out a belly laugh, another not so LadyLike thing to do. After her little splutter and cough we chatted about the title. I told her about my mother in law being born in the Highland Barracks as her father was one of the Queens Guards throughout the 1930's. My friend was so impressed, after I told her the title was placed upon my grandfather-in-law. After ummming and ooooing, I couldn't keep from smiling myself. The story about Grandad is very true, alas the Ladyship and Lordship he passed along was not.
I thought I would add a recent portrait of myself here :))

i CAME CLEAN HERE.I showed her my papers, and explained how I inherited a title upon purchasing a plot of land in Scotland, thereby becoming a Scottish Landowner. With our plots of land, we are able to plants trees helping our 'scottish roots' take hold in a grand way. What other way can we help our future 'children' if we do not look after our Earth, and restore the highlands to their former glory?
Terribly impressed, she asked when we visited our land last. I was able to show her photos on the internet - thank you Lords and Ladies of Glencoe. My pictures included my pets, and forbears, and the remnants of our castle :)

My Pet - 'Coe'

A portrait done of my highland cattle

I have added some 'family' portraits here so you can see what glorious lineage I come from.
Jane's possible portrait
Our highland cattle has eaten everything but a few sods of earth. We purchase a special tree every year, to be placed on the highlands, and each time it's in one of our families names. Quite some time ago, both my Lordship and myself FOUND WE do come from titled persons, alas they did not pass them down to us the right way as there was problems in the past. Lord Stephens great Uncle Harold's Grandmother 'Jane' was a titled Lady herself. Though she was never known as such. Back in the years gone by, when a child was born early - now known as premature - that child was deemed to be born on the wrong side of the blanket - and possibly illegitimate and not the child of the supposed sire. I believe after the death of the original Lord, the first born son and the second and only other child born entered into a family dispute. This dispute ended up with all entailed being taken by the Chancellory, and the titles died with the parent.

As you can see - this castle is in good repair

Alas this castle is not - not even anywhere near me :))

Lord Stephen of Glencoe my Lordship
Not the reason for becoming Lord and Lady H though. I found a website by chance after looking up or what I call trying to find the Scottish roots of Steve and myself. I thought what a great wedding anniversary presie for His Lordship !! Always one for unusual or presents that one would not necessarily buy for oneself person, I deemed this to be perfect and went on to purchase same for myself - another little story there - joint anniversary presies - and one plot for Lord Nathan, Lord Brendan, Lady Kobe and little Laird Jordan :))) Usually I send Lord Steve up in the air in a Helicopter Lesson, or a Portrait (cartoon like) of him sitting on his motorbike, with one of our Schnauzer pups behind him, sword in hand and a cheesy grin, and the latest - a trip and luxury stay (c/-coupon buying - the canny Scot in me)  to the Great Ocean Road.
Me as a wee Lass

So Ladies, Lords and Lairds of Glencoe - What do you tell the people who ask you ?? I would love to see your written responses - so go ahead and add them here for all to see. It's actually a GREAT story to be told to all.

Many smiles - Lady Di

Another Laird of Glencoe is almost BORN !!!

How lucky am I? Lord Steve and I  have two beautiful grandsons and a third is on his way. No secrets here - my family (brothers included) are destined to be male dominated. My eldest brother and his wife have one son - probably thought that was enough and stopped. My own family consists of two boys and then lucky me, I had me a girl. My youngest brother has six - yes that's right - 6 boys!!! And now my own children look destined to follow suite. My father was one of three boys and Mum one of two girls, so you would think there would be some fairness and sharing of sexes. That is, at least some girls would come about - alas - like myself, there is one female per generation. My youngest son Lord B, has two boys - both pictured, and suprise, suprise, there is another little boy is about to be born - scan pic below.  He is coming to us next month! Hopefully in the future Lady K and her Navy Hubby ( he promises me all Naval men have girls !!!) and Lord N and his partner will also fill our hearts and our homes with children, though I am quite happy to have three gorgeous Granddogs to love :)))

This is Laird Jordan or JB - my eldest grandchild, who at 6 - almost 7 (not till December 10th) Nanna. He loves everything his Daddy likes. That is cars and motorbikes. He also loves hats - again like his Dad, and has amassed an amazing collection of them and little cars. The picture below shows him in his bedroom at Dad's. I started him off with some pirate things, and he seems to have got carried away with those too....or more probably his Dad. LOL.  He loves coming to see his Daddy and I think his favourite food is Mcdonalds and other fastfoods though he does adore chocolate milk and icecream.

This cheeky little chap is MJ, who will be two on November 1st. His smile lights up any room, and his enormous blue eyes which are exactly like Mummies, are gorgeous. Not sure why the car is in his mouth, probably cause his Mum calls him motormouth :)) Always welcomes his Nan and Pa will a cuddle and kiss. Runs to the door and swoops on us - just lovely !! The photo above shows him in his element, he also loves cars and is always mucking around with Daddy while he paints and fixes up mini-trucks. Dad is like his own father - they both love motorcycles - seems to be a thing with all the males in my family! Think little MJ may talk his Dad into getting him a motorbike, quicker rather than later. This little man loves his food - anything at all - and everything is his favourite. The kind of kid everyone loves to have around too. If they can make more like him, I'll take six - LOL. .

This is the latest little man on the right in his latest scan. Due in August and we can't wait to meet him! We may not be able to wait, but mother nature says we have to, so we will wait till Mummy obliges. In this image he is waving to his Daddy LOL. Now I will have to get busy and design another quilt for this little fellow. Have pretty well decided on wild animals - what no tartan!!! I will have to get some Glencoe Tartan for my boyz, so if anyone knows where I can get some in Australia - can you let me know please?

I will have to purchase a little more land and makes these youngest two little Lairds of Glencoe too :) Must get onto one of my favourite websites below, again soon as this latest little fellow gets here - need his full name - I know part of it - but the middle name is a secret !!!

    A Storm's A Coming.....

hmmmmmm. Just heard on the news channel that the mountains of NSW are going to experience a storm. DER. The television is already mucking up, so we are getting our candles and torches to the ready. Water in the jugs - yes its electric but I have a gas stove and pans to boil water LOL.. And a large bucket or two of water for the loo cause that also requires water - funny that.

So have had dinner and a nice cuppa and might have to go to bed early, cause as soon as there is any thunder - the electricity will be turned off so as not to blow up all our electricals. That has happened before.

Only last week whilst  we were off enjoying ourselves the power went out due to trees falling on lines and an accident on the main road. Unfortunately that buggered up the fridge/freezer and we came home to a mess. A smelly trully awful mess, meat was soooo off and everything else in fridge disgusting too - luckily for us, garbage day was the following day. So there wasn't anything left to eat other than what we keep in cans, luck has it I have rice milk and that is in long life containers and hubby drinks his tea black :)) Have to make a claim on the insurance - about time I got something back after decades of payments.

These pics above were taken during and after the last been 'storm' we had. A carpet of white made it look like the Snowy Mountians instead of the Blue Mountains.

Going to investigate getting some more stuff for the puta and so I can blog more - you know it's old age - you know - the gigabyte thing. I only have 3 gigs a month and the way I am writing and using the computer I will need to increase it as soon as possible. Maybe I should send hubby to Telstra again as when he went today he got positive results after complaining of the 30 messages from Telstra saying his credit was less by the call, though they promised him a longer usage time. Although I reckon I can rock this little boat all by myself. I said to him, behave yourself and you get good results. LOL.  He came back and the first words to me were - I behaved myself and I got results. He was only gone 25 minutes too :)) So we are hoping in 21 days time we don't get messages all day long about running out of credit - cause I know he will do his block.

Going off so my puta lives to tell another blog tomoz

    Another day in Victoria

Its still dark! So we snuggle back under the covers and wait till the light comes through the curtains. What's that you say? The curtains at my window seclude one inside and unless you open them, you don't know that its 5am or 7am. Woke up to birdsong amid the howling westerly winds. So, I opened the curtains and was happy that it definitely was a gale and not rain :))  Trips planned today was from Skenes Creek to Colac and back via Triplet Falls and Apollo Bay. There was a bit of rain along the way, but the day grew dryer as it went on. A little warmer in Colac than we thought it would be too.

At the top of Skenes Creek is Cape Otway National Park

Stephenson Falls were closed  :(  Flooding had almost ruined the camping area and is closed off till November 2012. Repair work is being completed for the Christmas rush I suppose. Well there was another we went to see as well, but the weather had beaten us. This caused Sabine Falls walk to be extremely wet and dangerous and was too difficult to traverse for me and another sign said a three hour return trip. So we headed to Colac Information Centre where the staff advised me which other falls were still open. Thanks to you both :)

At this juncture, we travelled towards Colac to see what it had to offer the traveller. Not quite what we expected - a big town but a quiet town - though we don't know what that was exactly. His Lordship went off to look at some things that he has a hobby with while I went looking for Patchwork or Craft outlets. Only found one in town - McMahons. You walk through the door to be greeted by window dressings, a little further in is the store and toward the back or is that side, I found what I was looking for.  Two more bits of fabric for my Victorian GOR Hexagonal Quilt and a pack pf lovely Moda Antiuque Rose coloured fabrics for similar...... not sure what to do with them at mo - just divine fabric for the stash :)) I also found a lovely pattern too!! The lady who served me said it was the last one and she was a little disappointed that I wished to buy it. Should have put that one away methinx.

    McMahons Colac - Patchwork

After a bite tp eat we headed off back towards Binn Road to the GOR. So Triplet Falls was the destination and the advised time to complete the track to see them was a  2 hour trip! .  The sound of the water cascading downwards was amazing. To walk or not to walk? My head said maybe but the body said you have to be joking.!  So we set off, amazed by the scenery, and the coldness of the dampened forest. Guess what ? We finished it in two hours 15 minutes. Not bad with dicky tickers, and back and knee surgery go wrongs. I am very proud of myself that I did it and so is Lord Steve. Even he with his current medical woes was happy to see these beautiful falls. Mother Nature in her fury gave us such a show to behold. Well worth the trek. Can't believe how well this photo came out as I was a little tired with the ups and downs of the track. Invigorating really. Triplet Falls in all their glory though today there was actually Five seperate falls.

I found a very large tree and just had to give it a hug. Reciprocal really. It was begging to be hugged and I just had to oblige. The aroma of the eucalypt was truly uplifting. Around this area a gent called Mr Knott was the owner of a mill which he and his employees fell an amount of huge eucalypts for building.

You just had to be there and look up towards the sky. These trees are wonderful.

Heading back' to our accomodation we stopped to take in the vista of Apollo Bay - from the western side this time. The sun was abating though it gleamed upon the sea as I took this photo. Lovely huh?

Markets to come this weekend -  hope I can see and purchase some lovely local crafts and foodstuffs tomorrow. Then heading off to see some more of GOR coastline and probably the lighthouse at Cape Otway. We also have plans for seeing the remnants of the Twelve Apostles, a cheese factory and a chocolate factory. Will tell you more tomorrow.

Day Three - Great Ocean Road - Here We Are :))))

Day Three - The Bucket List continues ......

Well would you believe I had written half of my blog when I wanted to add a photo for you to drool on while I write more, and bang its gone. So to start again ........

Our comfy bed at The Grand Pacific

We woke this morning to another happy rainy day :)) LOL I took a few pics whilst the wind blustered around the pier and looked westward toward the ocean to see black forboding clouds. More rain and high winds forecast for the day. Just as well our travel is in a vehicle which has a roof - abliet a sun roof to peek out - and windows that close - lucky us. Lets continue on with this, our GOR trip - its on our bucket list.

Sunrise, the pier and pines at Lorne.

We headed into town to look for some brekky as our hotel didn't serve such through weekdays. Though they do supply a kettle, tea etc so you can have a much needed caffiene start to the days travels. Thanks for that. The town of Lorne dosen't wake up much before 9am though there are some great shops to window shop in. We happened upon a bakery whose window announced that they had the Apprentice Baker of the Year ensconded within. I think I met him as he ladened the shelves with chocolate filled pastries. I ordered two coffees - which were the best we have had for some time and an Apricot Danish for moi. ... yummo.

We headed back from whence we came as we wanted to take a pic of the entry point to The Great Ocean Road - now throughout our holiday to be known as GOR. We turned into the layby and was met not with just the sign across the road, but written and shown in a statue the whole reason the GOR was there in the first place.

From 1918 when our returned servicemen came back from World War 1, two gangs at a time, built the GOR. They worked tirelessly hewing and digging the road to make the road us Australians take for granted. I did not know till this point that the reason that the GOR was built was to re-assimilate these ex-servicemen back into society.  His Lordship and I said the same thing at the same time and that was , this is how they rewarded these men? By re-assimilating them this way? Hand picking and digging, slogging away - not many young men would do this now - as money came in to build.

    A truly lovely tribute

There at the beginning of the road is a monument to these men and their tireless work. So our thoughts were very much with these men as we traversed this difficult start to the GOR. We stopped at the plaques dedicated to their work and read them with gusto.  Even though the sky was black in parts and the rain splattering against our window, we kept thinking about these WW1 men and what they had achieved so that we may enjoy the fruits of their labour. To them we say a heartfelt THANK YOU !!!
We will remember you every time we see our photos.

Along the GOR there are many plaques for the traveller to read. If you are visiting - please stop to read, you will be amazed at the information there.

Great Ocean Road in inclement weather

The rain had caused some land slips along the way and there were verious groups of workmen cleaning up, and it looked as they had been there for some time previous. We reached the township of Apollo Bay and stopped to take a peek at the Tourist Information Centre. Helpful staff there gave us maps and brochures of things to see and do for the coming days.  Lunch was freshly cooked fish and chips (the fish rolled in rice flour for everyone and much appreciated by me since being diagnosed as a Coeliac) - Butterfish :)) Yummo.  After sitting at the beach which had been beaten by furious Mother Nature in the days preceding, we ate lunch and then we headed off to our accomodation for the next few days - Beacon Point Ocean View Villas. And they did not disappoint - Have a look below at the view from our deck. We can see the same from the bed in the main bedroom and the lounge dining area. Gorgeous!!

We were given breakfast supplies for the time we are at this accomodation, as well as a welcoming bottle of wine from a local winery. Thank you again. We shall enjoy that one evening. The villa is well appointed with everything you need - comfy bed, premade for the tired traveller. This was not expected as we thought we had to bring our own linen, so bonus :)) Coffee grains for perculating sat in the fridge - will go nicely with brekky. There is even a dishwasher, washing machine and BBQ. As the weather was turning cold and starting to rain again, his lordship loaded up the fire, after fixing the fire door handle (theres more) - funny work always seems to comes with us - we sat and gazed into the flames like mesmerised butterflies. I chanced to look out the window towards the deck and a little wren came to say hi.. So close to the window, dashing and darting about, I had to keep up with it to get a photo. Shortly, the wren was joined by two others and I truly enjoyed watching them.

Planning tomorrows journey at the moment while Lord S snoozes. The fire is still glowing and keeping me toasty warm while blogging.  Hoping you are enjoying my travels with me. Till tomorrow ......

    Dee :)

(Please excuse the pics cloudiness - I am an amateur photographer - but keen. You can get the idea though of the beautiful scenery)

Day Two - The Travellers go on......

After leaving Albury, Chiltern saw our first stop, the Rest Stop is being done up and lots of travellers were using it.  Looks like many of the Rest Stops are being updated :)  There isn't a great deal to see off the Hume Highway (now Expressway) in Victoria without having to go off it to go to the townships. Sad that we have to do that nowadays - miss towns and all they can offer. Stopped for coffee at a service station/eatery - was nice too :) Zipping closer to Melbourne saw us a little confused as there is much roadwork being done into this city. We did find somewhere to purchase some lovely deli foods and continued back onto the main roads to Werribee Point which overlooks Port Philip Bay. We would have gone to the zoo but my mobility stopped that. After travelling my back says no when the head say I wanna go see. Maybe another time.

We travelled on to Anglesea - couldn't work out any motel accommodation here so decided to continue to Airleys Inlet. We pulled in to the Lighthouse Motel to book in. Lord S went in to get us a room and the buzzer went off as he entered the reception area. Hopefully we thought, someone would come serve us ..... not. So I got onto the net and surfed for somewhere to stay in Lorne and found the Grand Pacific Hotel, booked us a room and online. When we got closer to Lorne we stopped off to get a night-time pic - yes it was dark now - not planned - and heard a noise. Wound down the window and the ocean greeted us :)

Back on the road to the hotel and we walked in and received a lovely welcome. The lady who served us in the dining area/bar was very pleasant as was all the staff - thank you ")  Upstairs - two flights - ugg - was a quaint small room - but clean tidy ensuited with a bath - just lovely. Downstairs we enjoyed a nice cold beer with a small meal and started watching Origin footy with some overseas visitors but tired we approached our room where the NSW team is now 16 vs QLD's 10. Lets hope the game is completed safely and NSW achieves their much anticipated win.

    Pic from the web

We arrived later than we expected but was greeted with lights ablazing the verandahs. The Grand Pacific Hotel Lorne is housed in a fully restored classic building, originally built in 1875.

After a lovely soak in the bath, this bed seems to be so much more comfy.
No pics of today's journey as the camera is still in the car and this traveller is weary - even more when she thinks of the two and a bit flights of stairs :))

Adiou and Nite to all :)) Dee

For all your Lordship and Ladies - Check my alter ego - Quilt n Craft Diva for the beginning of my travel with Lord Stephen LOL..........

With glass half full, On the same team

    It's nearing now, A goal we've set

Steve & I have had a somewhat unusual year, one we would like
not to happen again :(   We are looking hoping to have a great
35th Wedding Anniversary on the 5th of March. Last anniversary
gift was giving Lord Steve a title and a tree in his name in the
beautiful Glencoe Highlands. You can have a peek of the woodlands
by googling Glencoe - to see some terrific panoramic photos of the area.

Blue Mountains of NSW - The Land of the Mist and Rain.

ooooops. Had a bit of a migraine yesterday - waiting for the rain to come - and today it did. Very sorry for no news about the Lord & Lady of Glencoe here in the Blue Mountains of NSW.

This is the view from Kurrajong Heights towards Sydney

Today we are awaiting the arrival of the dinosaurs. The weather is mainly thick with mist and its drizzling all the time. Birds are in and about the trees taking in their good fortune as when it rains the worms are easier to snatch from the ground where they come up when the ground is sodden.

My hens however, are very naughty today as I only managed to find one very soft shelled egg!! Thats it said Lord Steve, they'll stay in tomorrow - too busy gadding about to be concentrating on the job at hand!!

SO - it was off the mountain today for my Lord Stephen and I to go looking - at houses land and the like.

Lord Steve and Lady Di are up and moving in a month or so - well hopefully just the month and are moving up to the North Coast of Australia. So there will be more to share about what we are up to and what we will be seeing.

We quite like the look of this land

But today I have also been sorting out all the paperwork we get in the mail and made some interesting discoveries. In Australia we pay into our Superannuation funds usually with the employers we work for. Sometimes we can remember or are allowed to use the same Super people and sometimes not. So WOW - Lord Steve has 6 and I have five !! Now just to get them altogether for when we get old. LOL. Think we are almost there now :))))

Am happy to be writing bits and bobs tp share with my Glencoeans and those looking to join us, by buying a little piece of land to help save the heritage of it. Just take a peek for more information on the following link :-

Camping in Australia - Does it compare to Scotland ?

T'was a wondering about what it must be like to go camping in Scotland. In Australia, the word camping is still a politically correct term. I know Tramping is used in New Zealand and Trekking - well we do that too. So what is is called in Scotland??
Heaps of camping groups in an about the national parks and forests though you will need to get permission in some areas from National Parks & Wildlife office. We use the following term when going about our native bushlands and that - Take only photos, leave only footprints. Throughout the parks there are fire places ready made so you can make a cuppa, have a bbq or keep warm - BUT - if its summer in Australia you MUST adhere to Bush Fire danger periods and not light any of these at all. No naked flames allowed.

The bush track to Patterson Camping Groungs, Kurrajong Hills NSW

Wikipedia tells us the following about camping in Scotland though I would advise looking up http://www.highlandtitles.com/ or such and let them know that youre coming for a wee visit.

Did you know that as part of Scotland's access legislation (The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003) you can camp on most unenclosed land?

This is just one of the aspects which gives Scotland some of the most progressive access legislation in Europe and wild camping is also a great way of getting out into the less-discovered parts of Scotland's stunning countryside.

However with this right comes some responsibilities. Campers should leave these wild places unblemished by their visit and protect them for future visitors and campers. Over the last few years there has been an increasing number of high profile cases of antisocial and careless behaviour at wild camping sites. Concerns have been raised after some locations were affected by vandalism, out of control fires, rubbish, abandoned equipment and pollution from unburied human waste.

SNH is keen to reinforce the principles of responsible behaviour for visitors wild camping in the countryside. Scotland's Outdoor Access Code (SOAC) provides guidelines for people accessing the countryside and choosing appropriate camp sites.

Wild camping is encouraged throughout Scotland provided campers apply the good practice 'leave-no-trace' guidelines as detailed on the Outdoor Access Scotland website. These are:
    - Avoid overcrowding by moving on to another location;
    - Carry a trowel to bury toilet waste and urinate well away from water courses;
    - Use a stove or leave no trace of any camp fire. Never cut down or damage trees;
    - Take away your rubbish and consider picking up other litter as well.
    - If in doubt, ask the landowner. Their advice might help you find a better camping spot.

A great list of sensible no nonsense requirements :))

    Another Laird of Glencoe?

    Good Evening All :)

Introducing the youngest members of the Clan ..........

The latest addition to our clan is young Mason James. Our little man turns one year old on Tuesday 1st November, 2011.  Must get onto http://www.highlandtitles.com/ to acquire a wee bit of land for a wee bit of a lad, to be hence known as Laird Mason , seen below with his Lordship - or as he knows him 'Pa' playing on the beach together

As you can see Mason required some shade from our harsh Australian sun and his Pa was happy to help him out. They played on the sand making little moats while the gentlest of breezes blew softly and the tide was quiet.

Mason is such a delight and brings much love and laughter into our home. Wherever he goes he is sure to get a smile on for anyone who would like one. At the moment he is getting some more teeth so can be a wee tetchy at times, but a hug and distraction of a song from his Nan or a bearhug from his Pa or tickles from his Mum and Dad can get his smile 'on' :)

I purchased a wee lot for our eldest grandson Jordan Brian from http://www.highlandtitles.com/  when I was searching for gifts for the rest of the then family members. Jordan is pictured below playing a tough game of Nerf guns with his Lordship a couple of weeks back.

Jordan has the cheekiest or cheesiest of grins :)

His Lord and his Laird prepare for battle !

So, I'll be back in the 'moro for 'tis 11:49 pm here in Australia on the last Sunday night of October 2011. I will introduce the Lady and two other Lords in moi family soon :)

Think I'll just stand, contemplate my navel, holding an Aussie Flag, a glass of whisky in the other hand, a tiny tree in a pot by my foot with a little fence around the edges of the pot and get one of those umbrellas that look like a hat and hang a beach towel around it for protection agin the wind - and thats just on one of the kids wee small plots - just imagine on what I can do on my Lord's and my plots - hopefully we can also see the tree planted somewhere there for us LOL

The Welcome Beginning of a Lord and Lady

What a hoot! To actually own 'bare' woodland - albiet a small plot in the Highlands of Scotland and in turn help preserve a beautiful piece of heritage for all eternity, has given us much to talk about within the family.

Our forebears must have forgotten that "passing in on" is good for the soul, pffft I say - so my Lord and I are still in gainful employment, slaving away and ekeing a living from the fortunes of others. So what you say? Did I find an elusive inheritance waiting for me to discover it? Alas me laddies and lassies I did not. Hence I had to resort to a little web searching in regards to my family heritage.

    Glencoe Wood

    Plot Information

Luckily for me, whilst pondering my missed-fortune, Highland Titles was featured on one of our local televisions stations, which  gave me further information to take it upon myself and enrich our lives becoming Diane and Stephen -  Lady & Lord of Glencoe, Scotland. I also bought some plots for my two sons, daughter and grandson :))

After lodging my application for a little plot of land - heehee - a large envelope arrived. Secreting it away for my personal perusal at a later time - or when the family wasn't watching to ask what ya got there Mum - I was filled with abnormal glee. Can't see anyone beating my gift again this year. Probably never happen anyway as family both sides and children have a latent problem remembering important dates. Woohoo - I'm a Lady - no rude remarks warranted here :))

Glencoe Wood offered me an opportunity to purchase a pieve of Scotland and in turn help in the care and heritage It also gave us the right to call ourselves Lord and Lady Hallam of Glencoe. Knowing that when I purchased this land for my family I was making a heartfelt contribution for the environment. The woodland is owned by hundreds of different people which in turn ensures that at no time can any developer acquire it nor cause detriment of the area. I purchased one tree to begin with, to help reforest the land and help in a process I haven't heard of before but will copy down -  carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere by the process of carbon sequestration.

More importantly, I read about the woodland being home to many species of Scottish flora and fauna, and that it can be enjoyed by people as an area of peace, quiet, and tranquillity. What a wonderful way of demonstrating my committment to this amazing turn of events.

T'was our wedding anniversary number 34 looming, (or our age creeping up to bite us on the proverbial) that I first gave my Lord Steve, the gift of 100 sq ft of Scotland :) Always an enterprising woman, with gifts that would be hard to beat (family wise and more of then at a later date), I gave my Lord a wrapped gift full of Glencoe Highland gifts and a title to boot - welcome Lord Stephen :) He looked at me with awe ( or in Australia that would be called - what the?) and laughed his head off! Too rude I quoted, to which he stated to me what do I do with this? Watch the littlest DVD on record on my 'puta I said. He loved the idea once he got used to it and I let him know that I also purchased a tree to be planted in our name for all eternity (or for however long someone b****r doesn't cut it down) in the naked land of Glencoe.

My Lord stated, what about you love, to which I replied - of course I am your Lady, as always.

Well, now off my "throne" I must adieu to all, as my stomach requires sustenance and I must away to lubricate the cogs as I do like my cuppa tea - so I must be off this wonderous contraption called my 'puta' and get on with the rest of the days work.
